Take-aways from Junes committee meeting

We have just had our monthly committee meeting this week and I would like to share with you what was discussed.

1. We are looking at how we can get interest in our club and what the club offers hockey players and keep members informed better. Our focus to start with is to try to attract new players, at the same time, keeping members informed. If you have friends or colleagues who may be interested in playing, invite them along.

2. The Club captain is now sorting out the details for club training, so that a programme of skills and fitness is planned for each session for all.

3. We have talked about umpires, the need to train new umpires and maintain the present group. The umpire liaison office is looking at how we can support our umpires and support training for new people.

4. While we are in the closed season and the dust has settled on the season, we need to find captains for both the men’s teams. This role is more than just administrative, it is really an honour, to lead a group of players. Leading by example, reflecting the values the club. If you think that could be you, more information will coming out from the Club Captain soon.

5. Finally, but not least, we are in the final stages of organising a home base for next season, so that we can offer a friendly, inviting location for both home and away players.
